SA gets Linux academy
Linux Holdings have launched South Africa's first full time Linux training academy. Mixing theory with practical, students will begin with a four-month curriculum, training them up to write the Linux Professional Institute level one exam. New Firefox version speaks Afrikaans
The newest version of Mozilla Firefox web browser has been translated into the South African Afrikaans language, one of 11 official South African languages. The Afrikaans translation is the work of the volunteer community at the non-profit Translate.org.za, which translates FOSS programs into South Africa's many languages. Xerox puts on a Red Hat

Open Tuesday debuts in South Africa
South Africa's first Open Tuesday event was held recently at the Holiday Inn in Sandton.
