OSR: Apache
What is Apache?
[From the Apache Foundation] The Apache Software Foundation provides support for the Apache community of open-source software projects. The Apache projects are characterized by a collaborative, consensus based development process, an open and pragmatic software license, and a desire to create high quality software that leads the way in its field. We consider ourselves not simply a group of projects sharing a server, but rather a community of developers and users. Want to find out more? Go here.
New Axis2 version released
After four months since the original 1.2 release, Apache is very proud to announce the release of Apache Axis2 version 1.3. Apache Axis2 is a complete re-design and re-write of the widely used Apache Axis engine and is a more efficient, more scalable, more modular and more XML-oriented Web services framework. More on the story can be found here. The release is available for download here.
How To: Configuring Web Access To Subversion Repositories
This how to is going to describe the steps to get the mod_dav_svn module to work on an Apache web server. First I'll assume that we don't have Apache and Subversion installed on our FreeBSD box, in a second part I'll explain how to add the module using our current installation. More on the story from HowToForge here.
Jackrabbit released
The Apache Jackrabbit community is pleased to announce the release of Apache Jackrabbit version 1.2.3. Apache Jackrabbit is a fully conforming implementation of the Content Repository for Java Technology API (JCR). A content repository is a hierarchical content store with support for structured and unstructured content, full text search, versioning, transactions, observation, and more. Typical applications that use content repositories include content management, document management, and records management systems.More on the story can be found here. The release is available for download here.
