OSR: Debian GNU/Linux
A separate space for Debian
Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux. It comes with over 15490 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine. For more information, visit Debian's Web site here.
Hocevar elected Debian project leader

Debian updates 3.1
The Debian project has updated the stable distribution Debian GNU/Linux
3.1 (codename `Sarge'). This update mainly adds security updates to the
stable release, along with a few corrections to serious problems. Those
who frequently update from security.debian.org won't have to update many
packages and most updates from security.debian.org are included in this
update. More on the story from Go2Linux.org here.
